Funding for school buildings: now is the time to switch to Pulsar by Sabiana
For 2014 and 2015, 122 million Euro a year should be excluded from the Stability Pact of Municipalities that will undertake operations for upgrading and improving safety of school buildings.
The provision is included in the Draft LD on the Spending review approved by the Council of Ministers on Friday, April 18. A great opportunity, to finally have safe and welcoming schools. First and foremost, heating systems, which are often obsolete, energy-guzzling and unsafe in all respects.
The solution put forth by Sabiana in this connection is Pulsar, a metal ceiling radiant panel with extremely low inertia that perfectly integrates into 60x60 cm false ceilings (but can also be installed exposed) and that solves all issues to do with safety (ceiling installation), hygiene (no dirt build up on surfaces, easily disinfected), maintenance (easy access and detection of any leaks). A solution with low implementation costs that allows the rooms to be heated with the utmost comfort yet with extremely low thermal inertia, for quickly bringing the premises to the set temperature. Pulsar may be paired with traditional high temperature thermal power plants, as well as with condensation boilers and heat pumps.

MCE 2014 A great success for Sabiana!
During the 2014 Show and Conference, operators’ interest in Sabiana’s solutions was undeniable. The original stand with the corporate colours was in fact packed with professionals in the industry, who evidently appreciated the showcased innovations, including the App, the new wall controls, the new Atlas version with electronic motor, the new two-way valve that automatically regulates water flow, the new Meltemi airknives. Architectural firms seemed to be especially interested in Moma, flush installation kit for fan coils that makes it possible to do away with the machine’s encumbrance for improved ergonomics and aesthetics, also in residential settings. However, although they were the main source of interest, the latest products were not the only attractions – the success also stemmed from the hospitality, kindness, warmth and professionalism of management and all the employees on site. Who therefore confirmed the belief that Sabiana is a company made by people, not by figures. In this perspective, the service we offered of taking pictures of visitors and then gift them with the photo was especially popular. In other words, it was a great opportunity to initiate or strengthen the dialogue our company has enjoyed with the market for more than 80 years. And to reaffirm once more, Sabiana’s excellence on all fronts. During the 2014 Show and

MCE 2014 - Sabiana’s new products at the front line
Sabiana
app. Always standing by people, Sabiana could not forego
the development of an invaluable work tool for all its employees and
associates: its App. This is the first innovation to be presented at the trade
fair. Developed for Apple and Android, the Sabiana App has been developed to
become the inseparable companion for professionals in the industry. Versatile,
comprehensive, cheerful: come and test it at the Fair and it will win you over.
New wall controls. Innovative
design and energy saving button: Sabiana has redesigned wall controls so that
convenience goes hand in hand with aesthetics.
Atlas with electronic motor. Energy
saving and variable air flow from 0 to 100%, here are the main features of the
newborn in the large Air Heater family. Its name is Atlas ECM and it features
an electronic motor controlled by a built-in inverter. As well as decrease
electric consumption compared to traditional asynchronous motors, electronic
motors make it possible to continuously vary the air flow rate and control the
room temperature with higher precision, with added benefits on average sound
levels.
Atlas ECM, produced in 6 sizes, already complies with the 2015 limits set forth
by the new European regulations (EU) no. 327/2011 that sets especially low
electrical consumption in relation to the air flow performance provided. The
regulation has been in force since January 2013.
Water flow regulation valves. Sabiana
introduces an interesting application on its fan coils, regarding a 2-way valve
with control actuator and automatic water flow regulation, independent from the
system’s upstream pressure. Featuring a compact size and simple manual setting
of the desired flow rate (30 – 1300 l/hr), it represents a step forward towards
simplification of climate control.
Flush installation kit for fan coils.
We called it Moma, because exactly like the famous New York museum, it seeks to
show off the beauty of modernity. This kit makes it possible to install fan
coils flush with the wall, doing away with any encumbrance, including visual
ones. As a matter of fact, Moma’s side may be painted in the same colour as the
wall. This is a good talking point for putting forth fan coils as the ideal
solution for residential premises as well.
Airknives. They are still called
Meltemi but are all-Italian now. Sabiana presents the new airknives wholly
manufactured in its premises. 3 applications (light commercial, commercial,
industrial), 3 versions (ventilation only, water, electrical), 3 sizes
(1000-1500-2000 mm) to offer the utmost versatility, with a comprehensive
series of set-up and control systems.

This office is a gas chamber...
This was evidenced by the just published, extensive research called OfficAir Project that the prestigious institution has conducted in eight European countries, including Italy. The results are disheartening to say the least: formaldehyde, benzene and terpenes are far above the risk threshold. The smog pollution entering from the windows, in fact, is compounded by the pollution from linoleum floors, furniture glues and paints, cleaning products, photocopiers and printers. In other words, an actual gas chamber where we spend most of our day. Still not convinced? Here are some figures: in the offices analysed in Italy, in winter, the concentration of formaldehyde, which is carcinogenic, is 15 micrograms per cubic metre while outside it stops at 4 micrograms. In the summer, the indoor level reaches 18 micrograms (9 outdoors). Taking into account that – according to CNR experts – the danger threshold is 10 micrograms, the sums soon add up.
Ans this is but one of the 30 pollutants analysed by CNR. This is not scaremongering: it is widely proven that breathing polluted air is an extremely serious health hazard. The studies in the field are by now countless. And the results are unquestioned: pollution kills. In short: solutions are urgently required. The technology is already here: most offices, in fact, are air-conditioned. All it would take to address the root of the problem and allow workers to breathe clean and disinfected air, is to fit air conditioners with an effective filter.
