The date is getting closer and closer. On Saturday May 9th Fondazione Prada will open its permanent headquarters in Milan, a unique place that is already anticipated to be one of the city’s highlights. Fashionistas and not just them are eagerly counting the days to the grand opening, in view of the grandeur of the project, which was designed by the OMA firm led by starchitect Rem Koolhaas.
It is an incredible experiment of shared art engaged in a constant conversation between past and future. The complex architectural layout, in fact, combines seven existing buildings with three new constructions (Podium, Cinema and Tower), for a total of 19 thousand square metres, and is the result of the renovation of a former distillery in the south east area of the city, in Largo Isarco, which dates back to the 1910s and has been completed redesigned by the OMA firm.
In addition to the exhibition spaces, the facility will house a cinema, a theatre, the Prada archive and a space designated for children’s education at the entry – developed with the students of the École Nationale Supérieure d'Architecture de Versailles Bar Luce, designed by the US film director Wes Anderson, which recreates the atmosphere of a historical Milanese coffee shop and is set to become the meeting point of Milan’s chichi set.
An extraordinary space and a complex project, for which the celebrated fashion house required the best. So for air-conditioning of the complex, the choice was to use Sabiana AHU and Fan Coils, to assure superior technological level and aesthetic quality of the appliances.

Sabiana air-conditions the New Egyptian Museum of Turin!
Yesterday the press was offered a preview of the new layout, stemming from 5 years of design and construction work and an investment of 50 million Euro.
The outcome is considered to be outstanding by all the world’s leading experts. The collection of finds is spread on an overall surface of 10,000 square metres, up from the previous 6,400, over four floors, connected by an escalator system that mimics an ideal journey upstream the Nile, designed by scenographer Dante Ferretti.
A chronological museum itinerary that covers a time span from 4000 b.C. to 700 b.C.
Visitors have the option of following each find on tablet and smartphone; a redesigned logo, a sort of graffiti with the hieroglyph symbolising water, hinting to a connection between the two rivers, the Nile and the Po; the addition of audio-guides in Arabic.
A true cultural jewel, which is already expected to attract long queues of visitors from all over the world. The second museum by importance on the planet, after the one in Cairo.
Carisma CRC and CRS fan coils by Sabiana have been selected for the air conditioning.

Polluted air in classrooms: the EU sounds the alarm. Sabiana puts forth a solution
SINPHONIE (Schools Indoor Pollution and Health: Observatory Network in Europe ) is a research project funded by the EU, concerning health, environment, transport and climate change whose final objective is to improve air quality in primary and nursery schools.
Sinphonie took a snapshot of air quality in 114 schools attended by 5,175 children (264 nursery schools) and 1,223 teachers in 54 cities of 23 European countries.
In Italy, the study involved six schools: two in Sicily (Palermo), two in Tuscany (Pisa) and two in Lombardy (Milan).
The study found that 85% of European schoolchildren are exposed to micro fine dust at concentrations above 10 micrograms per cubic metre, average annual guidance value recommended by the WHO; half are exposed to excessive amounts of radon and a quarter to too much benzene; over 60% of children are exposed to high levels of formaldehyde and a significant presence of carbon dioxide.
Breathing too many pollutants means a greater risk of suffering from respiratory conditions and certainly does not help if one already has a problem: 8% of schoolchildren suffer from asthma, 9% from nasal allergies and 17% from eczema. Children spend most of the day inside school buildings. Healthy school premises may therefore directly improve children’s health and promote learning, contributing to their development into healthy and capable adults.
Installing a good air filtering system is an important step towards breathing clean air in all indoor premises where people spend a long time. Crystall is the top of the range electronic filter, able to assure good IAQ through virtually total elimination of all liquid and solid particles that pollute indoor air.
